- Pickles Butte Sanitary Landfill (Canyon County): refrigeration units $20.00 per unit plus weight; Canyon and Owyhee County residents only; minimum fee $15.00 per the county page (the FY2025 fee PDF differs, check before going). - Bonneville County: The Bonneville County Transfer Station accepts appliances and Freon items. Freon items: small refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners and any small Freon item $15.00 each; large refrigerators and freezers $20.00 each. The page does not show an effective date. - Madison County: The Madison County Transfer Station accepts refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners and white goods such as washers, dryers, water heaters and ranges. - Teton County, Idaho: This is Teton County, Idaho (Driggs, Victor, Tetonia), not Teton County, Wyoming. Appliances containing refrigerant: $15 per unit plus $100 per ton at the Teton County transfer station east of Driggs. Washers, dryers, water heaters and dishwashers are listed as sorted metal items, charged at the sorted rate of $15 per ton ($2 minimum). - Fremont County: Fremont County's landfill disposal rates list a refrigeration (Freon removal) fee of $25.00 each for county users and $75.00 for out-of-county generators. The rate sheet lists a $3.00 minimum per load, and staff may ask for proof of residency. The Eastern Idaho Regional Solid Waste District lists the Fremont County transfer station in St. Anthony, open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., phone (208) 624-7332. - Jefferson County: Since June 1, 2025, the County Line site no longer accepts Freon items. Freon items are still accepted at Circular Butte Landfill near Terreton for $20.00 each. - Bingham County: Central Transfer Station: refrigeration units (freezers, refrigerators, large air conditioners) $25.00 each; window air conditioners and small refrigerators $20.00 each. White goods such as washers, dryers, ranges and water heaters: no charge at the Central Transfer Station. Central Transfer Station minimum charge is $5. Loads that are not tarped pay a $10 fee. - Bannock County: Fort Hall Mine Landfill (Pocatello): $20.00 per residential-sized refrigeration unit. Commercial units are not accepted. Fort Hall Mine Landfill hours: Monday to Saturday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Phone: 208-236-0607. A $2 fee applies to card payments. - Twin Falls County: Southern Idaho Solid Waste runs the Twin Falls Transfer Station, Hub Butte and West End sites for Twin Falls County. - Blaine County: Southern Idaho Solid Waste runs the Ohio Gulch Transfer Station (near Hailey) and the Carey Transfer Station. Blaine County is a district member but does not run the transfer station. Freon-containing white goods: $10.00 each for in-county customers, $20.00 each out of county, per the district price list. - City of Idaho Falls: The City of Idaho Falls picks up water heaters, stoves, dishwashers and similar items if you call to schedule. Sanitation: (208) 612-8491. City fees: bulk item pickup $30.00 per item; Freon item pickup $50.00 per item. The fee page does not show an effective date. Freon items (refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners) are also subject to the Bonneville County fee. - City of Rexburg: The City of Rexburg says larger items such as washers, dryers, stoves, refrigerators and water heaters can be taken to the Madison County Transfer Station at minimal cost. - City of Twin Falls: The City of Twin Falls contracts with PSI Environmental Systems for trash collection; call PSI at (208) 733-4441 with collection questions. The city page does not list a curbside appliance pickup. Residents can take refrigerators to the Transfer Station and pay a nominal fee to have the Freon removed.
