FAQ
Should I reset my appliance when I see an error code?
Only if the manufacturer's steps say to. A power reset clears many temporary codes, but some brands, like Samsung for refrigerators, ask you not to clear a code before service because it erases diagnostic information.
Which error codes need a technician?
Codes tied to the sealed refrigerant system, compressor, gas parts, heating elements, control boards or wiring need a pro. Each page here says whether owner checks are likely to help.
How much does it cost to fix an appliance error code?
Call for a quote. Repair costs depend on the brand, the model, the part and the shop, so we do not publish price ranges.
